*M4M*

November 2024, Purgatory Bar

IMG_3802.jpg

M4M, a queer adaptation of Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure", was performed in Purgatory bar in Brooklyn and directed by Asa Nestlehutt. The sonic world of this piece was divided into two distinctive elements: that of the wild, free, rebellious punk music (composed and performed live by the BumBabies) representative of Claudio, Escalus (in this production made to be Claudio's lover), and Isabella; and that of the harsh, cold, formulaic Techno music (composed by myself) representative of Angelo, industry and empire. The techno element was used primarily during angelo's monologues, which were prerecorded and layered into the techno music. A few samples are below:

God Mode

July 2024, Gene Frankel Theatre

God Mode, written by Quinn DeVillers, directed by Annalisa Noel. As this play took place entirely in the bathroom of a club, most of the sonic world was characterized by muffled club songs in the background. Half way through the play, however, one of the characters peaks on shrooms and a shroomy, dream ballet ensues. This was created by mashing up "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In (The Flesh Failures)" by 5th Dimension, "Love is Gonna Save Us" by Benny Benassi and the Biz, "1812 Overture" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and "Femininomenon" by Chappell Roan.

*What Moves Me*

April 2024, Fordham Studio Theatre

"What Moves Me" was a devised piece of theatre at Fordham University directed by Narushi Fukuda and created by the cast and designers. As the composer, I had to take the ideas generated in the rehearsal room and quickly turn them into music to bring back the next day for the cast to learn. All the instruments and sounds were created by myself, while the voices with and lyrics were predominantly the cast (sung live in the performance). The entire album from this project can be found on youtube:
